What is the Republican Party and what do we stand for?
The Republican Party finds its roots in the effort to stop the expansion of slavery in the 1850’s, and it was the Republican Party that was ultimately successful in leading the way to completely abolishing slavery in the United States.
The Republican platform advocates for:
•Individual Personal and Economic Freedom
•Smaller Limited Government
•Strong National Defense & National Security
•Lower Taxes
•Conservative Social Policies
The Republican Party was founded on the idea that every citizen should be afforded equal rights, equal justice, and equal opportunities - regardless of race, creed, sex, age, or disability. Though some things may have changed since the days of the first Republican President, Abraham Lincoln, we still believe in the same core principles. We need your help to fight for these values every day. YOU are the key to help ensure that Gaston County remains one of the best places in the world to live, work, and play.
It has been said that all politics are local, so here is where we begin. If we desire a strong nation with a great economy and security for ALL citizens, we must start here.
